Present Land Use
The project site currently consists of young-growth timber and agricultural land associated with past orchard and sheep grazing activities. In addition to the vegetative cover on the timberland conversion portion of the site consists of young-growth coast redwood and Douglas-fir intermixed with madrone, tanoak, coast live oak, CA bay, and bigleaf maple. The Sonoma County General Plan designates the site Resources and Rural Development. The project site is zoned Resources and Rural Development (RRD-40).
Document Description
The project is limited to: (1) installing a rocked ford crossing, (2) excavating two temporary trenches across two small watercourses to facilitate drain pipe installation to a sump basin; and (3) constructing an armored spillway. The rocked ford crossing shall be constructed across an ephemeral tributary to facilitate construction of access roads within the vineyard.
The CA DFW is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2012-0092-3 pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Keith LaVine/Codorniu Napa, Incorporated, DBA Artesa Vineyards and Winery.
