Title
Cactus Avenue Corridor Groundwater Wells Project
Description
The Cactus Avenue Corridor Groundwater Wells Project consists of development and operation of groundwater extraction, treatment, and distribution facilities in the Perris North Groundwater Management Zone. The Project includes construction and operation of extraction wells, raw water pipelines, a water treatment and blending facility, and treated water pipelines. Up to four extraction wells (each approximately 250 gpm) would be constructed in the North Sub-Area and up to two extraction wells (each approximately 650 gpm) would be constructed in the East Sub-Area. The treatment facility would be constructed and operated at a central location that would include granular activated carbon contactors, a blending facility, potable water distribution pump station, a chlorine residual injection system, and nitrate treatment facilities. The treated water from the extraction wells would be blended with imported water from MWD to drinking water standards and then delivered to a transmission pipeline in the potable water system that would convey the water to other parts of EMWD’s service area. The water would be disinfected prior to discharging into the potable water system.
