- Note: Review Per Lead The project rehabilitates the Wawona Wastewater Treatment System. Proposed actions include: - Improving the Wawona Wastewater Treatment Plant to increase treatment capacity, include solids handling ability, upgrade control systems, expand office/meeting spaces, and address staff safety hazards - Expanding land-based tertiary-treated effluent disposal capacity by constructing sub-surface disposal trenches at the Big Trees Lodge Golf Course - Improving the effluent disposal spray irrigation system at the Big Trees Lodge Golf Course by replacing ageing components and re-configuring parts of the spray field to improve turf watering - Upgrading the sewage conveyance infrastructure (lift stations, controls) along Wawona Road and Chilnualna Falls Road - Installing a sewer force main, power, and communications utilities along Wawona Road - Connecting Wawona Campground to central sewage treatment at the Wawona Wastewater Treatment Plant - Decommissioning the septic systems currently serving Wawona Campground - Decommissioning the infrastructure that provides for the ability to discharge tertiary-treated effluent to the South Fork of the Merced River - Eventual replacement of the vault toilet at the South Fork Picnic Area with a double-stalled flushing toilet restroom connected to the sewer force main that runs to the Wawona Wastewater Treatment Plant
