Alpaugh Water System Arsenic Treatment Project

Description

SWRCB is a responsible agency for this project. The SWRCB Safe Drinking Water State Revolving Fund Program is providing funds for the project. The district is proposing to upgrade the potable water facilities at its Well No. 1 site. The upgrades are proposed to include the addition of an arsenic treatment system and associated piping, replacement of the existing stand-by generator, installation of an onsite wastewater disposal system (septic tank and leach field), construction of a 1,500 SF metal building (to house an office, laboratory, and chemical storage), and the installation of solar arrays to provide electrical power for District uses. Construction operations anticipated fro the Project include but are not limited to trenching, excavating, welding, installation of underground pipes and conduits, concrete construction, installation of filter vessels and associated above ground piping, building construction, mechanical, and electrical work. Some of the expected construction equipment includes but is not limited to contractor staff vehicles, crew trucks, cranes, water trucks, backhoes, welding equipment, etc. All of the work will be performed within the District's property. Construction work is anticipated to take place during a 6-month period.
