Project Info
- Title
- Slender False Brome Intergrated Pest Management Program
- Description
- The Slender False Brome (SFB) Amended Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Program makes two general changes to the existing SFB IPM program: it expands the project area and provides for enhanced treatment methods within the expanded project area. The expanded project area encompasses 16,650 acres in unincorporated San Mateo County, the towns of Woodside, Portola Valley, and La Honda Creek OSP, a small area of Saratoga OSP, and surrounding public and private lands. The Amended IPM program encompasses the entire 2009 project area and adds the former Galloway and Sempervirens Fund parcels acquired by the District in 2012, the Tunitas Creek OSP, and approximately 670 acres of private land south of the La Honda Creek OSP. Enhanced methods include treatment protocols for aquatic habitats within the three existing elements of the program: (1) Pre-treatment surveys and site inspections; (2) Herbicide application (Roundup PROMAX in upland habitats or AquaMaster or Rodeo in Aquatic habitats), as well as manual control methods (handpulling, mulches, tarping and mowing); and (3) Post-treatment, erosion control, restoration, and monitoring.
