Description: The City of Clovis and the Fresno Metropolitan Flood Control District (FMFCD), in conjunction with the California Department of Fish and Game, Clovis Unified School District, and Fresno Rescue and Wildlife Rehabilitation (FWR), have proposed the development of a nature education center to be located within the City of Clovis. The proposed facility will be located on land previously acquired by the City of Clovis for park site, as well as on land purchased by the FMFCD as a storm water basin and flood detention basin. The primary purpose of FMFCD's land will remain storm water management, but this location has been determined to be suitable for a dual use as a recreational facility. The site will feature a wildlife rehabilitation program, fishing lakes, nature trails, an outdoor amphitheater, and adequate onsite parking. (EA 2001-24).
