Kernen Construction - Morris Logging Contractors' Yard

Description

Development of a logging and construction company yard to be used for storage of equipment and other uses related to off site logging and construction activities. The project includes construction of an approximately 13,125 square foot metal building, approximately 28 feet in height to be used for equipment storage. The project will bring into compliance a contractors' yard (logging and construction) and office which was initiated prior to securing necessary permits. The +/- 5 acre parcel is developed with paved areas, an oil/water separator, setting basin, security fence and a commercial coach. A portion of the equipment storage building will contain a closed system equipment wash rack to eliminate dirt, diesel and oil from entering into storm water drainages. The project includes landscaping along Glendale Drive. Associated uses may include intermittent log or chip storage, aggregate storage, and timber products processing such as chipping brush and firewood making. Community water and sewer services are proposed to serve the parcel. Approximately 60% of the parcel is developed with asphalt concrete paving, with the remainder gravel surface. The parcel was used for forest products processing in the past, however, it has been unused for the last few years.
