San Gabriel Valley Water Company Plant B6 Extraction Wells and Pipelines

Description

The proposed project consists of the purchase of two properties, construction and operation of four groundwater production wells (2 wells at each of the properties to be purchased), construction and operation of approximately 10,200 feet of pipeline in public streets and the addition of Liquid Phase Granular Activated Carbon (LGAC) absorption equipment at the San Gabriel Valley Water Company (SGVWC) B6 Treatment Facility. The proposed project, located in the City of Baldwin Park, is intended to extract contaminated groundwater in the southern portion of the contamination plume within the Baldwin Park Operable Unit (BPOU), transport it to a treatment plant owned and operated by SGVWC, and provide new treatment equipment to remove volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from the extracted groundwater.
