Document Description
California State Parks (CSP) proposes accessibility improvements at the Surfwood Campground, East Pinewood Campground, West Pinewood Campground, Visitor Center and Camp Host site within MacKerricher State Park. Improvements would bring these facilities into compliance with State accessibility guidelines and associated legal mandates. Work will: Campgrounds Improvements: • Saw cut and remove an approximately 1000-square foot area by 12-inch deep of non-ADA compliant concrete apron and aggregate base around the combination building; • Install new building apron and concrete walkway with approximately 1215-square feet of 4-inch • PCC over 6-inch aggregate base; . • Sawcut and remove an approximately 30-square foot area by 12-inch deep of asphalt paving; • Remove and replace bulletin board and concrete footings 12-inch-wide by 24-inch deep; • Replace portions of the existing masonry walls, all wood stud framed walls and roof; • Replace portions of the foundation to a depth of 3-feet and 6-inches; • Install an outdoor shower area at the West Pinewood Campground and East Pinewood Campground; • Excavate and backfill a trench 25-feet long by 12-inches wide to a depth of 36-inches to connect a new water fountain; • Excavate and backfill a trench 15-feet long by 36-inches deep by 15-inches wide to connect the existing lift station; • Excavate and backfill a trench 36-feet long by 36-inches deep by 11-inches wide to connect existing power lines to the northeast portion of the building; • Excavate and backfill a trench 30-feet long by 36-inches deep by 10-inches wide to intercept an existing powerline; • Prune vegetation along the edge of the new East Pinewood Campground walkway, approximately 250-square feet up to 8-feet high; Visitor Center Comfort Station: • Sawcut and remove an approximately 1150-square foot area of asphalt to a depth of 12-inches; • Construct a comfort station with masonry walls and a wood frame roof; • Sawcut and remove an approximately 150-square foot area of concrete to a depth of 12-inches; • Install new 2250-square foot concrete walkway and ramp over 4-iriches of aggregate base; • Install a parking sign attached to a 12-inch diameter pole with 2-foot deep concrete footing; • over aggregate base around the visitor center; • Remove the existing fire ring, picnic table, woodshed and porch; • Excavate and backfill a 70-foot long trench by 10-inch wide to a depth of 23-inches to connect the electrical panel at the existing visitor center to a pull box at the new comfort station; • Install aggregate base trail approximately 50-feet long by 6.5-foot-wide to a depth of 13-inches with wood edging 4-inches wide by 16-inches deep and rebar stakes 36-inches deep; • Install drinking fountain, trash containers on walkways; Camp Host Site: • Clear and grub a 3500 square-foot area, including the removal of the existing camp host site; • Excavate and backfill a 400-foot long by 10-inch wide trench to a depth of 36-inches for utility installations; • Install a 3250-square foot parking stall and RV pad; • Install wheel stops with 36-inch deep anchors; • Install boulders and excavate approximately 18-inches deep by 3-feet wide; • Install approximately 125-linear feet of rail fencing with 12-inch diameter fence posts to a depth 2 feet; • Install tough shed, picnic table, wood porch and 36-inch wide fire ring to a depth of 36 inches
