Expansion of PG&E’s Vierra Substation in Lathrop near the border with Manteca. A new 1-mile double-circuit 115 kV power line would provide San Joaquin County with a more reliable connection to the regional transmission system, increasing the reliability and capacity of the electric grid serving the cities of Lathrop and Manteca, to avoid power outages for approximately 120,000 households and businesses in Lathrop, Manteca, and surrounding communities. The project includes upgrades within existing fence lines at 6 other remote substations: 5 in San Joaquin County and 1 in Alameda County) and the addition of microwave dishes to existing telecommunications towers at Mount Oso (Stanislaus County) and Highland Peak (Contra Costa County) microwave stations.
