The proposed Project includes:
(1) the approval and execution of agreements converting CVC Contractors’ existing water supply agreements for CVP Water with Reclamation pursuant to the Water Infrastructure Improvement for the Nation Act, Pub. L. 114-322 (WIIN Act); and
(2) the approval of agreements with DWR that renew the terms of existing agreements for the conveyance of CVC Contractors’ CVP Water until 2035. The conveyance agreements have three parties (Reclamation, DWR, CVC Contractors) and provide for the continued conveyance of the CVC Contractors’ CVP Water through SWP facilities in the same amounts and manner.

The Cross-Valley Canal (CVC) is a water conveyance facility in the southern San Joaquin Valley that extends from the California Aqueduct near Tupman, east to the Kern River. The CVC can convey water to the CVC Contractors’ turn-outs along the Friant-Kern Canal (FKC), on the east side of the San Joaquin Valley. The CVC Contractors are located within Fresno, Kings, Tulare, and Kern Counties. DWR operates the State Water Project (SWP), with facilities available for conveyance of CVP Water for CVC Contractors when unused capacity is present, located in Central California from Clifton Court Forebay south to the California Aqueduct’s connection with the CVC.
