Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2020-0243-R3, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to J. Lohr Vineyards and Wines. The project will stabilize approximately 235 feet of streambank using a combination of soil bioengineering and onsite boulders. A series of 6-foot wide, 2-foot thick coir wrapped soil and gravel live willow lifts will be constructed on top of a rock platform, using existing boulders on-site, at a 1-foot vertical to 1-foot horizontal slope. The lifts will extend from the toe of the bank to 3 feet from top of bank. Above the lifts, a soil and gravel wedge staked with willow poles and seeded with native grasses will be installed to top of bank. Gravel for the live willow lifts and the soil and gravel wedge will be sourced from an approximately 75-foot wide, 130-foot long gravel bar located in the center of the channel immediately downstream of the eroded bank. Willow poles will also be sourced from this location. No in water work will occur as a result of the project.
