The purpose of the Proposed Project is to minimize fish isolation and stranding. The two primary components of the Proposed Project are (1) surfacing the sluice channel and (2) installing a diversion structure that would connect the upstream portion of the tailrace channel to the main river channel. In combination, these components were chosen to meet the project goal of minimizing the potential for fish isolation and stranding and to provide TID facilities with durability and lower maintenance requirements during operations.
