Document Description
Draft Supplemental Environmental Assessment / Environmental Impact Report. This draft document supplements the American River Watershed Common Features General Reevaluation Report Environmental Impact Statement / Environmental Impact Report (SCH # 2005072046).
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and Central Valley Flood Protection Board (CVFPB) propose to construct levee improvements consisting of the installation of approximately 1,150 linear feet of levee erosion protection and on-site riparian habitat features along the left bank (when facing downstream) of the Sacramento River just downstream of the Westin Sacramento in the City of Sacramento. The purpose of the Project is to reduce the risk of flooding to the City of Sacramento by constructing bank protection that reduces the risk of levee erosion and levee failure. Levee improvements that are part of the Project were analyzed in the American River Common Features General Reevaluation Report (ARCF GRR) Final Environmental Impact Statement/Environmental Impact Report (EIS/EIR) (SCH # 2005072046). This draft Supplemental Environmental Assessment/EIR (EA/EIR) addresses Project modifications and refinements since publication of the ARCF GRR EIS/EIR.
