Document Description
The project involves the restoration and ordinary maintenance of segments of an existing hiking trail to its original condition; no new trails or widening beyond the original conditions will occur. This will be accomplished with hand tools, and where necessary, chain saws to cut tress that have fallen on top of the trail; all work will be performed by people; no motorized equipment, except chainsaws, will be utilized to remove plant growth on and over the trail. In some places, fire-induced erosion has resulted in sections of the trail being covered or washed away. The trail will be contoured so that water flows naturally down the slopes in a manner that minimizes soil erosion. Hiker-oriented trail signs will be installed beside the trail to direct trail users to the footpath .
