Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes a project to make pavement, drainage, pedestrian, bicycle and guard rail improvements as well as replacing loop detectors at intersections on State Route (SR) 84 from post mile (PM) 21.5 to 25.7. Additionally, the project will repair shoulder pavement cracking and settlement and replace shoulder backing between PM 24.91 and 24.99. The purpose of this project is to preserve and extend the serviceability of the existing pavement and improve ride quality. The need arises from the Pavement Condition Survey for the section of the corridor that is within the project limits indicates that the pavement exhibits minor distress and unacceptable ride quality. IF this condition is left uncorrected, the pavement will deteriorate to the point that there will be need for a major roadway rehabilitation project.
