Document Description
The CA Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to upgrade current highway facilities to meet Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) standards along US 395 in Inyo County near the City of Bishop. The proposed project would extend along US 395 from North See Vee Lane to North Barlow Lane and would include constructing or reconstructing sidewalks, curb ramps, and gutters to meet ADA requirements. There are two alternatives under consideration for the project: Alternative 1 would require approximately 7.5 ft of additional right of way on both sides of US 395 to construct sidewalks and allow for on-street parallel parking and a Class II bicycle lane. Alternative 2 would not require widening State right-of-way for sidewalk construction, but would not be wide enough to allow on-street parallel parking.
