Document Description
The project is limited to the installation of a fish ladder at an existing cement low water crossing on
Manning Creek. The existing concrete low water crossing has been acting as a fish passage barrier to
Clear Lake hitch (Lavinia exilicauda chi); this project will allow access to spawning habitat upstream of the
crossing. Work includes attaching a 12-foot long mild steel ramp downstream of the cement crossing. The
ramp will be constructed offsite. The ramp will measure approximately five feet wide at the crossing
attachment, 12 feet long, and three feet wide at the downstream entrance. Six to 10 wedge anchors and
multiple hinges will be used to attach the ramp to the crossing. Work also includes relocating one to six
boulders in the channel downstream of the ladder and trimming back approximately 80 square feet of
willows overhanging the creek. The project will be completed when the Manning Creek is dry in the late
summer, early fall. The project is expected to take two days to complete on site.
