To replace the existing 8-span, 120-foot long, Timber Stringer Trestle-Ballast Deck (TST-BD) single track railroad bridge crossing Elk Bayou with a 4-span, 120-foot long, Prestressed Concrete Box (PCB) girder bridge. Rip rap to be placed at abutments for erosion control.

Board staff has determined that the project is exempt from CEQA under the Class 2, Replacement or Reconstruction categorical exemption (CEQA Guidelines § 15302), because the activity consists of replacement and reconstruction of an existing structure where the new structure will be located on the same site and be substantially the same capacity and purpose. Further, none of the exceptions to the exemption in CEQA Guidelines § 15300.2 apply.
