The recreational trail would be 9.1 miles long, the majority of which is within JTNP. The Project is a joint venture among the Conservancy, the Friends of the Desert Mountains, JTNP, the Mojave Desert Land Trust, the Palm Springs-South Coast Office of the Bureau of Land Management, and the City of Desert Hot Springs.
