Document Description
The adopted Ordinance No. 19-7 repealed Ordinance No. 19-3 which placed a moratorium on work/live quarters and adopted interim development standards for multifamily and mixed use residential projects.
The adopted Objective Design Standards apply to all multiple family and mixed use housing development in Benicia. The Historic Preservation Review Commission (HPRC) held several study sessions and provided direction on the standards. The Planning Commission reviewed the Design Standards and provided feedback.

The project is not subject to review under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to CEQA Guidelines section 15060, subd. ( c )(2) because the it will not result in a direct or reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment and pursuant to CEQA Guidelines section 15061, subd. (b )(3) because there is no possibility the activity in question may have a significant effect on the environment. All projects for which the Objective Design Standards would apply will undergo separate CEQA review and approval.
