Document Description
The applicant requests a major use permit to upgrade the existing Sunrise Shore Mutual Water system to achieve compliance with State drinking water regulations and enhance fire protection capabilities. This includes the installment of a new treatment facility including aeration and backwash water settling and recycling tanks and a new 10'x14' wood frame building to house treatment equipment. The current 15,000 gallon storage tanks will be replaced by two bolted-steel tanks, each with the capacity of +/-45,000 gallons. The access driveway will also be improved to allow all weather access to the site and an access gate will be erected. A propane tank will be installed as a backup power source in case of prolonged outage. A new well will be drilled to create a redundant water source, equipped with a sustainable pump, well air vent, sample tap, check valve, and controls. Web-based controls/SCADA will be installed to maximize the system's efficiency and minimize operator site visits.
