Document Description
Well 30 is currently in an Inactive Status as directed by the Division of Drinking Water (DDW) due to levels of Nitrate above the state's max contaminant level. The intent of this project is to construct a blending system that will allow Well 30 to be reactivated and be used as an additional source of potable water for MPUD. The project will consist of cutting and capping existing MPUD distribution system piping in order to connect the existing line to the new 8-inch pipeline which will be used as part of the blending system. A 500,000 gallon blending tank will be installed, as well as a new booster pump station in order to pump the water back into the existing water distribution system. The project will also replace the existing 450 gpm well pump with a new pump. Construction of the piping, blending tank, and booster pump station will occur on approx 20 acres of land currently owned by MPUD. The parcel (APN: 428-140-04) where construction is to occur is a total of 100 acres. Well 30 is currently located on this designated parcel.
