Document Description
The project will treat approx 100 MG by diverting agricultural effluent and flow from the city's West Main St storm drain, where the water is processed in a new wood-chip bioreactor for denitrification and eventual groundwater recharge. The project repurposes 1.85 miles of existing, abandoned sewer pipeline and creates a diversion structure associate pipeline connections culminating at a 1.2 acre wood-chip bioreactor along the northeast portion of the Wastewater Treatment Plant. The project involves removing asphalt from West Main St to adjust manholes over the existing sewer main to the finished surface. Up to nine new bypass access manholes may be installed along the southern side of the eastbound travel lane at a depth of 12 ft.
