Document Description
Repair to existing Westmont storm drain facility that conveys flow adjacent to Westmont Road from an unnamed tributary to Sycamore Creek. The project would restore hydraulic capacity (40 cfs), to prevent anticipated clogging of existing facility inlet with mud and resulting flooding/mud flow during upcoming storm events following the recent Thomas Fire that burned much of the Sycamore Creek Watershed. The project would regrade the streambed upstream of the storm drain (6 cy grading within 20 ft x 4 ft footprint); remove existing headwall and steel grate; realign inlet with the channel; extend the 30" pipe 5-7 feet; and install new headwall, additional wing walls, and steel grate at inlet entrance, within a 1750 square floor project area. Estimated construction period of 20 working days. The project construction process would include measures to maintain public roadway access/circulation; protect surrounding area habitat and wildlife per biologist report; protect water quality, minimize nuisance noise and dust, and manage waste, all per ordinance regulations.
