Document Description
Caltrans proposes to replace existing drainage culverts and construct new culverts where needed along SR 88 to protect the roadway by increasing water discharge capacity, reducing water backup onto the roadway, and improving drainage structures along the route. A total of 30 culverts would be replaced or constructed on SR 88 in San Joaquin County in the city of Lockeford and in Alpine County. The existing drainage culverts at several locations in Alpine and San Joaquin counties have exceeded their design life and have either deteriorated or failed. In addition, the project would build a new drainage retention basin within the city of Lockeford to dispense heavy stormwater runoff from SR 88.
