Document Description
Early Tuesday Jan 9, 2018 in Santa Barbara County heavy rains saturated the hillsides, which led to multiple mudslides and debris flows that impacted SR 192. The mudslides and debris flows damaged bridges, culverts, headwalls, shoulders, side slopes, retaining walls, guardrails, asphalt and other highway elements. From PM 8.0 to 12.7, significant structural damage was documented on five bridges requiring complete replacement of 3 structures (Monteciti, Romero, and Toro Canyon Creek - East) and bridge railing replacement on the remaining two structures (San Ysidro and Toro Creek - west). The project work includes repairing and/or replacing the bridges and associated drainage features including culverts, and guard rails.
