Document Description
The Project includes restoration and enhancement of saltmarsh and dune habitats within an 850 acre portion of the Ocean Ranch
Unit of the Eel River Wildlife Are. Restoration and expansion of estuarine functions will be accomplished by implementing actions
that increase the tidal prism, improve connectivity between the restoration area, McNulty Slough and North Bay, increase habitat
complexity, and control invasive plants. Enhancement of dune function will be accomplished by eradication of invasive plant
species, primarily European beachgrass, and reestablishment of native dune mat Sensitive Natural Community. Alternative 2 has
been selected as the environmentally superior Project. Please reference the Draft EIR, Chapter 2 (Project Description) and
Chapter 4 (Alternatives) for detailed information.
