Document Description
The city public works dept is proposing to replace the Atascadero Creek Bridge (Existing Bridge Number 49C-158) over Atascadero Creek on Via Ave. The existing bridge does not meet current design standards and is considered functionally obsolete. The proposed project includes demolition and removal of the existing bridge superstructure and foundations and installment of a 74-ft long, single-span, cast-in-place post tensioned concrete slab bridge with no approach slabs. The project would require temporary detours during the 6-8 month construction period. The new bridge structure would be widened to meet current standards but the project would not increase the number of travel lanes or capacity on the bridge.
