Document Description
CDFW is issuing a permit to CCBER pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 2081(a) for a project to establish a population of Ventura Marsh milk-vetch at the NCOS where it will be protected and managed. The goal is to ultimately establish 725 plants. Approx. 100-200 seeds will be propagated in the CCBER greenhouse and the seedlings will be outplanted at NCOS in fall 2019. Additional plants will be propagated in fall 2018/spring 2019, and will be outplanted in Spring 2019. If space and survivorship warrant it, additional plants will be propagated and outplanted later in 2019 and in 2020. Drip irrigation will be installed for the initial establishment phase. Voucher specimens from a single plant produced in the greenhouse per year and a single plant produced in the outplanting area per year will be accessioned at the herbarium at the CCBER. Plant establishment, growth, and potential threats such as small mammal herbivory and snail damage will be monitored annually through 2024.
