Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2018-0137-R3, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project applicant, the San Mateo Resource Conservation District. The project includes following activities: Channel excavation to increase conveyance of flood flows and sediment downstrea. The project will increase the conveyance capacity of Butano Creek by increasing the cross-sectional area of the channel and creating a uniform slope of 0.04 percent or roughly a 2.7 foot change in elevation over 7,400 linear feet. Augmentation of an existing, upper floodplain berm, located upstream of Pescadero Creek Rd. Improvements to an existing berm at two locations in Butano Marsh along the reconnected Butano Creek to help maintain the excavated channel. Upgrade an existing marsh control structure. Beneficially reusing sediment removed from Butano Creek to improve water quality and reduce fish kills.
