The Pilot Program would entail the temporary, seasonal, voluntary fallowing of farmland within the Bard Unit for land owners and/or lessee farmers to fallow land during 2018 and 2019 not to exceed 2,000 acres each year for a 4-month period beginning April 15th to conserve approx. 3,600 acre feet per year. The Funding Agreement Parties, Reclamation, the Central Arizona Water Conservation District, The Metropolitan District of Southern CA, the City and County of Denver, and the Southern Nevada Water Authority , would monetarily compensate those voluntary participants for temporarily fallowing farmland.
