Document Description
The project involves the restoration of five key non-motorized mixed use (hiking, biking, and equestrian) trails in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. These trails will be restored to a usable and sustainable trail state for their intended use types. Failing drainage systems will be repaired so trails drain properly. Specifically, the project addresses a combined total of 28 miles of nonmotorized trails which have been damaged by unauthorized OHV use. Smokey Creek (12W35), Snow Gap (12W36), Rough Gulch (12W37), Dog Gulch (11W30) and the South Fork Trinity River (8E18) National Recreation Trails have documented damage from OHV use. All work will take place in the existing trail prism so there will be no new disturbance resulting from the project.
