Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake or Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2017-0174-R5, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to California Department of Water Resources. The project is limited to the repair of erosional damage caused by wave action on Pyramid Lake. The repairs will stabilize the shoreline of the lake and stem further erosion threatening the integrity of the recreation areas at vaquero Beach and Spanish Point. The Vaquero Beach Embankment Repair includes the armoring of approx. 211 feet of eroded shoreline. The erosion has undercut the bank upslope of the lake and portions of the hill are in danger of falling into the lake. The undercut area and overhanging trees will be removed and rock riprap will be arranged to armor the shoreline and adjacent bank. The Spanish Point Sea Wall Repair includes armoring approx. 266 feet of an existing failed seal using 525cubc yards of imported riprap. Work will include manipulation and repair of the existing seal wall, and then reinforcing the top and bottom of the seawall with riprap.
