Document Description
Caltrans proposes to replace approximately 19,000 linear of guardrail on U.S. Highway 395 from State Route 270 to the base of Conway Summit. To stablize slopes, for road and guardrail projection, approximately 1,000 linear feet of retaining wall will be installed at six locations. Project work will require two culvert drainage systems to be repaired. Currently guardrail in the project area is non-standard and requires replacement with standard Midwest Guardrail System (MGS). The traveling public will benefit by having new standard guardrail that has improved performance at reducing collision severity that the existing non-standard guardrail.

After environmental field reviews and research it has been determined that no known enviromental resources will be impacted by this project. No right-of-way or easements will be required for this project. No known cultural, biological or hazardous waste resources will be impacted by this project. This project is funded under California's Highway Safety Improvement Program; specifically the Collision Severity Reduction Program.
