Document Description
The Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) pursuant to authority granted under Chapter 6.8, Division 20, California Health and Safety Code (H&SC) approved a Proposed Plan as submitted by the Department of the Navy, Naval Air Base Coronado. The purpose of the Proposed Plan (PP) is to present the remedial action alternatives and select a preferred remedial alternative. This PP presents background on MRP Site 5 and North Delta, a summary of the environmental investigations and actions taken, the nature and extent of contamination, results of human health and ecological risk assessments, and the conclusions of these investigations that support the preferred remedial alternative. The Navy proposed Land Use Controls (LUCs) as a preferred remedial alternative to eliminate or reduce the exposure to munitions and explosives of concern (MEC) and ensure safe current and future use at Munitions Response Program (MRP) Site 5 and North Delta.
