Document Description
The Sierra Nevada Conservancy would provide $487,715 to the National Wild Turkey Federation for the Trestles Forest Health. The purpose of the project is to improve forest health and resiliency through hand thinning of 270 acres of public lands. The project would protect over 1 mile of drinking water infrastructure, which is the only public water line that feeds the community of Grizzly Flats. The project is expected to improve the overall health of the watershed; improve the resiliency of the surrounding forest to disturbances of wildfire and insect/disease; support the continued access to clean, affordable, and accessible drinking water to the rural community of Grizzly Flats; and protect life and property.
