Dehesa Road and Harbison Canyon Road Intersection Improvements

The county department of public works is proposing roadway improvements at the intersection of Harbison Canyon Rd and Dehesa Rd in the unincorporated community of Dehesa in eastern San Diego County. The project area largely comprises public ROW with ROW easements being obtained on Sycuan Indian Reservation tribal lands. The objective of the project is to alleviate congestion at the intersection with the following improvements: the addition of a northbound right turn lane on Dehesa Road toward the intersection; the addition of a westbound left turn lane on Dehesa Rd toward the intersection; the addition of a north-south two-way left turn lane on Dehesa Rd; the installation of a traffic signal and three additional street lights for safety, pedestrian phasing, pushbuttons, and crosswalks with all-weather surfacing; relocation of existing power poles; demarcation of class II bike lanes (6-ft wide) on northbound Dehesa Rd; the construction of a 5-ft wide concrete sidewalk on the east side of northbound Dehesa Rd; and a 5-ft wide decomposed granite pathway on the south side of westbound Dehesa Rd.
