Document Description
The proposed project will modify the Victor Valley Regional Composting Facility operated by American Organics on VVWRA owned land. This project will allow AO to upgrade their operations with new technology through installing a new storm water basin, concrete lined composting area, and processing building, though the volume of the materials that AO processes will remain unchanged. AO plans to compact a large portion of the site upon which it currently operates to the east of Shay Road. This will encompass approx 16.2 acres or 707,000 sf of the existing 35 acres leased from VVWRA for operation of the facility. AO will construct a 30,000 sf receiving and classification process building on the southern portion of the site. Processing the inbound feedstock at the facility will create the following list of products, which will be sold to customers or used onsite during development of the facility or as needed during daily operations: compost, mulch, wood products, miscellaneous road base, non-structural fill, and compost mid-fraction alternative daily cover.
