Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (Department) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2017-0229-R2, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Tom Fortune, Heavenly Valley Ltd Partnership dba Kirkwood Mountain Resort.
This project includes the removal of asphalt grindings from two meadow locations near Kirkwood Creek, and restoration of native vegetation. The remediation work is a result of a settlement effort regarding a violation of Fish and Game Code 5650, which prohibits the placement of material deleterious to wildlife and aquatic organisms (e.g., asphalt grindings), in or where it may enter the state waters.
