Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2017-0525-R1, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the California Department of Water Resources. The Project is limited to reconstructing and enlarging a pre-existing levee slope, which failed during the 2016/2017 winter floods. The project includes installing a turbidity curtain, clearing of surface vegetation, removing fallen valley oak within the repair footprint, protecting native trees within the repair footprint, excavating levee soils disturbed by the failure and transition zones to 1.5:1 slope, excavating a key trench for clean rock placement, placing geotextile fabric along bottom key trench, placing clean launch rock below water surface, reconstructing levee slope with rock fill and soil in voids from the excavation or from an off-site borrow areas to a 2:1 lope, installation of willow pole cuttings, and hydro seeding with native grasses and forb seed mix for all disturbed area located above the water level.
