Document Description
The project will remove accumulated sediment and vegetation from the earthen-bottom channel in order to restore conveyance capacity, thereby reducing risk of flooding to adjacent and upstream infrastructure. Water will be temporarily diverted around the work area using temporary sandbag berms, a pump, hose, and filter bag. Vactor machines may be used to remove ponded water from the channel if necessary. A bulldozer or tracksteer will be lowered into the channel to push sediment and vegetation into piles. The resulting piles will be removed from the channel with an excavator stationed outside the channel and disposed of offsite at an authorized location.
