PLU: Two-story vacant church building
Z: RH-2 District: residential house, two family; 40-X Height and Bulk District
Document Description
The project site is currently developed with a two-story approx 29-ft-tall wood-frame building constructed in approx 1922. The existing building most recently housed the Metropolitan Community Church of San Francisco, which consisted of a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer congregation from approx 1970 to 2015. The building is currently vacant. The building is considered individually eligible for listing on the CA Register of Historic Places due to its association with the city's LGBTQ community. The proposed 150 Eureka Street Project would result in the demolition of the existing two-story, wood-frame church building located at the site and construction of two four-story buildings, with two residential units in each building for a total of four residential units on the project site. The two buildings would total approx 13,174 gsf in size, and each building would include a four-car garage and indoor common areas. The proposed buildings would not exceed 40 ft in height.
