Planning Area 6 North Elementary School

The IUSD proposes to add two relocatable classrooms to Eastshore ES and implement bond measure modernization activities such as repositioning existing structures, and constructions of new Kindergarten classrooms with support spaces. The project site is approx six acres that includes amenities such as classroom buildings, play structures, play space, and a parking lot. Eastshore ES is located at 155 Eastshore in the city of Irvine, in Orange County. The proposed project includes building two relocatable classroom and modernization activities relating to the improvements outlined in the District's Measure E: School Facilities. The addition of the two relocatable classrooms will allow the current overflow of students to attend Eastshore ES. Implementation of the measure is intended to modernize and reposition existing structures and construct new Kindergarten Classrooms and support spaces. Students residing within the Eastshore attendance boundary are being overflowed to nearby schools. The current enrollment count is at 620 with a school capacity of 667. There are 426 permanent buildings and 194 portables that houses 198 students. The additional relocatable classrooms will increase enrollment by 66 students. Installation of the relocatable classrooms is expected to begin June 2017 until August 2017, approx six weeks. Estimated operational date will be the last week of August 2017. Anticipated construction for the Measure E improvements are expected to begin June 2018 until June 2019. Estimated operational date will be August 2019.
