Document Description
The City of Redding proposes to replace approximately 11,500 feet of 6 and 8-inch vitrified clay and AC sewer lines, replace or rehabilitate approximately 40 manholes, and replace all active private sewer laterals. The pipelines will be replaced by pipe bursting and/or open cut. All open trench will either be restored to original condition or covered with steel plates at the end of each day. The project is located within City streets and on private parcels. Residents will be notified prior to the project.

Reasons for Exemption
Class 2 exemptions include the replacement or reconstruction of existing facilities, including utilities. All work will occur within paved city streets, developed parcels, and previously disturbed areas. A water pollution Control Plan will be prepared by the contractor and implemented as required by the City's standard specifications. There also no known biological resources such as wetlands, threatened or endangered species or their habitats, or sensitive vegetation communities that will be impacted by this project. There are no known cultural resources, and no active hazardous waste sites within the project limits as documented in Geotracker. The project will not have a significant effect on the environment.
