Document Description
Proposed project would repair sections of a failing levee system, which runs adjacent to Sonoma Creek. To accomplish this, material excavated from the adjacent borrow pond on-site will be used to cap the damaged levee sections to match the adjacent elevations and fill the scoured core sections. Approx 200 to 250 lf of the levee will be filled and repaired using up to 200 cy of excavated native material. The purpose of the project is only to repair the levee to pre-existing conditions, which provided protection from uncontrolled flooding. The areas nearby protected by the levee include an essential multi-parcel access road, an active North Coast Railroad Authority railroad line and active farms.
