Document Description
CDFW has executed lake and streambed alteration agreement no. 1600-2016-0154-R2, pursuant to section 1602 of the fish and game code to Parks and Rec. The project is limited to the maintenance of Prairie City State Vehicular Recreational Area sediment basins. The maintenance work focuses on ten sediment basins within the Park that were designed to reduce sediment transport in stormwater runoff and protect the water quality of Coyote Creek and its receiving waters. During the dry summer months annual maintenance of the sediment basins would include the removal of accumulated sediment from the basin bottoms. Sediment may also be removed from six rock-lined channels in the pro motocross track facility that convey run-off between culverts that connect project basins. Project access routes have been designed to avoid and minimize impacts to vegetation where possible. Removal of emergent vegetation in the basin structures would occur and some existing upland plants would be temporarily impacted during maintenance activities. It is anticipated that 10,971 sf of upland vegetation would be temporarily disturbed.
