Document Description
City of Redding proposes to replace approximately 1,200 feet of 6- and 12-inch vitrified clay pipe sewer lines, 40 linear feet of existing storm drain, two catch basins, and install 355 linear feet of 8-inch PVC Sewer main. The PVC lines will be installed along with new clean-outs and lateral connections. Existing manholes will be rehabilitated or replaced as necessary. The pipelines will be replaced by pipe bursting and/or open cut. Trench spoils will be placed directly in trucks and hauled away as property of the contractor. All open trenches will either be restored to original condition or covered with steel plates at the end of each day. The project is located within City streets and on private parcels. Residents will be notified prior to the project.

Class 2 exemptions include the replacement or reconstruction of existing facilities including utilities. All work will occur within paved city streets, developed parcels, and previously disturbed areas. There are no known sensitive resources such as wetlands, threatened or endangered species or their habitats cultural resources, or sensitive vegetation communities that will be impacted by this project. There are no active hazardous waste sites within the project limited as documented in Geotracker. There is no reasonable possibility that this project will have a significant effect on the environment.
