The proposed Little Deer Creek Restoration & Flood Mitigation Project is a state of CA grant funded project located within Pioneer Park in Nevada City, CA. This proposed project is made possible through a joint effort between the city, Sierra Streams Institute and the DWR Urban Streams Restoration Program Grant. There are three primary objectives of the proposed project - 1) to restore approximately 640 linear feet (195 meters) of Little Deer Creek; 2) to reduce flooding impacts to the adjacent Lower Field, and general vicinity of Pioneer Park, by widening the streambed and regarding the Lower Field; and 3) to construct a "Roll and Stroll" trail (i.e., pedestrian, bike, recreational trail) within the perimeter of the park boundaries along Little Deer Creek.
