Document Description
The San Luis Obispo County Public Works Department proposes to seismically retrofit the existing bridge on Avila Beach Drive over San Luis Obispo Creek, in the community of Avila Beach. Project implementation will increase the bridge strength to prevent a sudden bridge collapse during an earthquake event at the design level severity. The project is receiving funds from the Federal Highway Administration and assistance from Caltrans. Project activities involve diversion and dewatering within San Luis Obispo Creek and all anticipated project impacts are temporary; no permanent impacts will occur.
